1. Short Title
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Voter Registration Act".
(b) This bill was authored by Lysander Lyon.
2. Voter Registration
(a) In order to vote, or to run for office, citizens must complete a voter registration form with the Ministry of State by opening a ticket.
(b) Citizens completing this registration must detail their legal name, their plot of primary residence, and need to show proof that they have registered their documents.
(i) Citizens must also provide party registration data, registering as either an Independent or as affiliated with a specific party.
(c) Once the electoral period begins, individuals that are not already registered to vote may not register until after the end of the elections, and will not be allowed to vote in the election. Once the electoral period begins, individuals that are registered to vote may not add, update, or change their primary residence, until the end of the elections.
(d) Citizens who do not have a valid voter registration on file are not eligible to run for office, or to vote.
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon the ratification of the Electoral Reform Amendment, but the Government may take action to allow registration to begin upon passage.
