Expressions of Interest: Advisory Council Member

The Mayor invites expressions of interest from people wishing to serve as additional members of the Free District of Salmonberry's Advisory Council.

About the role
The Council advises the Mayor on district matters and considers resident referendum petitions under section 7 of the Establishment Ordinance. Any Council approval of a petition must be recorded publicly within the 48 hours following the Speaker's certification.

We welcome people who can offer thoughtful ideas, constructive feedback and a useful perspective on life in Salmonberry, including farming, business, building and public services.

Appointment
Additional members are appointed and may be dismissed at the Mayor's discretion. Department heads already sit on the Council automatically. Meeting arrangements are set by the Mayor.

3. What is your usual availability for Council discussions and time-sensitive matters? Please provide timezone and times you are free on different days of the week: Approximately 2pm-12am weekly, 12pm-2am weekends. Eastern Standard Timezone.
4. Why would you like to join the Council, and what experience or perspective would you bring: I would like to join the Advisory Council for advancing the progress of industrialism, infrastructure, and culture within the district. Whether it be assisting in building, or even conducting community events, my goal is simple- support Salmonberry to thrive by accomplishing what is possible using my skillset. My experience consists of being a council member multiple times for previous towns, working in positions of power that fit how I would be assisting Salmonberry, and diverse in-depth knowledge of the game itself in which we will be working.
5. What is one issue or opportunity you would like the Council to consider, and why: One specific opportunity the Council should consider can be summed up in one word- desirability. As we know, Salmonberry is a newly created district, and it can be hard to entice players in living or working among underdeveloped locations. The best way to combat this reality is focusing on the most necessary or highest appreciated key elements of a local population. Any town can set up a few buildings, but if we create what will be best for our citizens and give great attention to detail, then Salmonberry can properly stand out to our players who value quality or quantity.
6. What other roles, commitments or business interests should the Mayor know about when considering your application: I am currently the MEC minister, a respected member of Parliament, and small-time seller of general goods.
