RESULTS

Nine seats were up for election, with four districts for four seats, and one At-Large with five seats. In the At-Large, each voter had a maximum of five votes to cast. Voters who did not meet the minimum requirements were removed from the count.

At-Large District:

Turnout: 65 total voters
Verified Voters: 61 total verified voters
Election Format: Proportional representation. In proportional districts, voters will still vote for candidates, but all votes received by candidates of a party will be totaled up to be that party’s number of votes. That, as a percentage of the total number of votes, will be used for seat allocation. Once the number of seats each party should receive is determined, the seats each party has won will go to the highest vote getters within that individual party.

Election Calculation:

• GAP received 54% of the overall vote, whereas ANC received 41% and LCA received 5%
• As a result of these total party votes, GAP is entitled to 2.7 seats, ARP is entitled to 2.05 seats, and LCA is entitled to 0.25 seats.
  • In seat allocation, once the solid numbers have been allocated, the highest decimal point is selected. This rounds the final seats being GAP entitled to 3 and ANC entitled to 2.
• GAP's entitlement to 3 seats means that the top 3 candidates with the most votes in their party win. ANC's entitlement to 2 seats means that the top 2 candidates with the most votes in their party win.
