BlogWorldExpo, Plaintiff
v.
Robi Safran-D’Azalea, Defendant
Civil Complaint:
The Defendant secretly installed a 4,000-pound hippopotamus named “Gerald” as the unelected Deputy Prime Minister of Azalea Isles. Gerald has since vetoed three bills by sitting on them.
Parties:
Plaintiff - BlogWorldExpo
Plaintiff’s Counsel - BlogWorldExpo
Defendant - Robi Safran-D’Azalea, Prime Minister
Factual Allegations:
(1) The Defendant appointed Gerald, a hippopotamus, to a position of executive authority without any vote.
(2) Gerald “vetoed” three bills by physically sitting on them. One bill is still under him.
(3) Gerald has never taken an oath, though he has taken several naps.
Legal Claims:
(1) Executive appointments require lawful authority, and the Constitution does not provide for a hippo deputy. Under anti-surplusage canon, as outlined in GreatFired v. Lyon, every provision must have effect, and none of them mention hippos.
(2) The Plaintiff has standing as a citizen governed by a hippo.
Prayer for Relief:
(1) A declaration that Gerald’s appointment is unconstitutional and void, and that Gerald get off the bills.
(2) Damages in the amount of $1,000 per week as allocated by the Damages Reform Act.
Verification:
I, BlogWorldExpo, hereby affirm that the allegations in the complaint AND all subsequent statements made in court are true and correct to the best of the plaintiff’s knowledge, information, and belief and that any falsehoods may bring the penalty of perjury.
